Welcome to 2015 MGRers! The years go marching by, and this year will be no different. It will be gone before we know it, but while it’s still fresh, I’m going to share what I plan to accomplish this year. It’s ambitious, but I think it’s doable.

First, I need to get Polar Bear on the Loose into publishable shape. I completed my revision, but beta readers tell me Inuit (Eye-Knew-It) isn’t ready for your curious eyes yet.  That means I’m going to do another round of revisions, attempting to address the concerns raised by my daring beta readers. I’ve set a publication date of August 4, 2015, so I have a lot of work to do.

Second, I sorted through my “stack of stuff” (to steal a phrase from Rush Limbaugh) and decided the next draft for revision is the work that has been known as Twilight. Clearly, I can’t use that title, so I’ve reassigned it to a working title of Geeks. Geeks will undo revision using Holly Lisle’s “How to Revise Your Novel” course. I’m setting a goal of one lesson per month for this revision. Polar Bear on the Loose took me six years, so two years is fast for me.

Third, I’m working on a short story for Blackbirds Second Flight, which has a planned release date of March 31. The cover looks like this:

Finally, I’m learning the behind the scenes part of publishing my work this year.  Cover art design, formatting for various ebooks, probably formatting for print books, front matter, back matter, and stuff I probably don’t even know about yet.  The nuts and bolts of self-publishing, first in the ebook realm and then in the print realm. I may not learn it all this year, but I’m beginning the journey.
