I'm Back
I made it home safely–both ways. Hubby’s dinner went well. Some of his friends presented him with a rocking chair.
Got to see the grandkids for the first time in three years (for me anyway). My! How they’ve grown! (Is there a grandmother alive that doesn’t say that?) Older one started middle school last week, and on her first day anything that could go wrong did, but by the second day things evened out. Younger one has the same third grade teacher her older sister had, and she’s pleased.
On the way back from Birmingham, I watched a rollover in my rearview mirror and saw a couple vehicles piled on top of each other when I got closer to home. Drove into a thunderstorm with sideways driving rain as I got back to the house. Then I learned June Drexler lost her husband in what sounds like a shocking trucking accident. It hasn’t been what I’d call a good weekend on the highways.
Be safe.
Glad you’re back safely. We had some wicked thunderstorms here last night – at least it’s a little cooler today.
I saw that about June’s Drexler’s husband over on Holly’s blog. I’m not a FM member and haven’t had the pleasure of meeting her, but she’s in my thoughts & prayers nonetheless.
Glad you’re back safe, Jean. You’re right, it doesn’t sound like the safest of weekends. We never know, do we…
