Photo: 4 Wheel Alignment?
The truck with just 12,000 miles on it, is in for a four-wheel alignment today.
I mentioned to my service adviser how suspicious this seemed to me with less than 12,000 miles on the vehicle (in late June when I took it in for scheduled service, it had 11,489 miles on it). Scheduled services are included with the purchase of the vehicle, so that service didn’t cost me anything, but there was a sheet attached to the back indicating my rear wheels were just out of tolerance and my front wheels were headed that way. My service adviser was sick that day, and the one who filled in for him didn’t bother to discuss this with me.
I showed my guy last week, and he gave several non-committal responses and scheduled the service for this morning. Sometimes, I’ve been pleasantly surprised with the things he’s gotten covered under warranty, and this seems like it might be one of those things. Alignments are not typically covered, but I can’t figure how how this could have gotten so far out of whack so early in the vehicle’s lifespan.
As I anticipated, my service adviser put it in as a warranty. As a bonus, he talked me into getting a driver while I wait for the work to be completed, so I chose a Ford Escape XLT (my other option would have been a Tahoe). I’ve always wanted to drive one of those, because I’ve heard so much good about them. I found it more enjoyable to drive and a to have a better ride than the Infiniti we had as a rental car in Chicago earlier this year.
Since the Escape is also gray, it looks like they shrank my Navigator and gave it back to me. Tee Hee.
