Photo: Sneaky Playing
Sneaky (Squeaky, Sneakers, Squeakers) is becoming more and more domesticated. Last week, she was playing with my shoe. She’ll let me scoop her up and cradle her on her back in my arms. She’ll let me carry her around a little bit. Admittedly, she’s a little anxious for that, but she tolerates it pretty well. I hope this “handling” will make her vet visit next month for her annual exam and shots go smoothly.
I hope that works too. We have two cats. They are indoor, and very loving. One is a calico and the other a tabby. We had to take the tabby to the vet. She knew what we were doing, and hid under the bed.
When she came back the other cat, the calico lost her mind hissing at her for weeks afterwards. I have no idea what goes on in the mind of a cat, but for awhile we had a psycho and sick kitty. She is all better now, and two months later they are acting normal again.
Wishing you much luck with the vet visit.
This sounds like major progress. Give us a report of the vet visit.
I will. Right now, I’m more concerned about Mooch. I’m making progress, but from a distance, he’s either dirty or he has some medical issues that will need attention on his neck. I can’t rush socializing with him, so I’ll just have to pray he’ll be okay.
Sneaky will be fine. I boarded her for her spaying last year, because while I was feeding her (earning her trust so I could catch her) she accidentally drew blood. Since she didn’t have shots yet, and we were going to be out of town, she needed to be watched for a ten day quarantine. She gave them fits by escaping from her cage and hiding several times while we were gone. They didn’t come right out and say she’d been a pain in the neck, but they may as well have. Hoping for a smoother visit this time.
