Photo: Last Day of Spring
On the last day of spring, I captured a couple of lovely images for you. First, let’s look at the crape myrtles in all their resplendent glory:
These first two on the left are taken with the iPhone.
The two on thr right were taken with my 16Mpixel Fuji Finepix camera about an hour later from approximately the same place on the back porch.
Finally, we have the full paint scheme for the house illustrated on part of one wall now.
You can see the four colors above (the trim is antique white). I like the milk chocolate between the floors. Yes, that’s paint between the two second story windows. I kind of like that it makes the fish scales look like bare wood. Mr. L is putting the second coat on this afternoon. Window frames have not been stripped or painted yet. Not sure why Mr. L saves them for last in his scheme. I’m sure I’ll learn eventually.
Oh my goodness–it’s going to be lovely, but such a huge amount of work! Our house is brick, with only a bit of wood showing, but I dread the time when it has to be redone. Of course, you and Mr. L. are considerably younger than we are. And I love the crape myrtles! Lovely.
Oh, Tex. You’re so funny. Mr. L is 77. I don’t think he’s considerably younger than you. He’s certainly young at heart, though. (The climbing is getting to him, though. I think he might finally be beginning to understand my knee pain. I hope it’s only temporary for him.)
Those trees look gorgeous!
Thank you.
Beautiful trees! And your house is lovely.
