Jean, scan the drawing into the computer and save as a jpg file. Open in GIMP or Photoshop and edit. You can do this! 🙂
That’s an idea, DJ. But I have some photo images cropped — cats that I want to place around an open book image like the sketch. I’m having trouble adjusting the size of images on the canvas so I can merge all the images into one. On the other hand, maybe I just open the sketch image in GIMP and clean it up. Maybe that logo would work just fine.
For a logo, you wouldn’t want to use photos. A logo is best as a line graphic or a colored line graphic. But, you can do a life version of your logo for your blog by putting your cats beside an open book.
If you don’t manage to do that yourself, I can help. You’ve got my eMail address.
Cat, I was going to do a conversion to a line drawing from the image once I got it assembled (the corner of my mind tells me there’s software that can do that). Getting my cats to pose beside an open book? That could take some doing. Grin.
Maybe a cleaner version of my sketch will work.
You can do it. GIMP is a little hard at first, but once you figure out the basics, it’s amazing. Go to gimpchat.com and click the tutorials forum. Just following those step by step directions will teach you the basic tools, like scaling which is what you need to resize them all to match.
GIMP is amazing. When I first started playing with it, I’d open it, fumble around a little, get discouraged, and close it. I’m able to do a little more with it now after playing. I should do some tutorials.
