Photo: Swap Meet Set Up
For the second year, we set up at the Giddings Auto Swap Meet this past weekend. It’s a fun little meet, and we found new homes for stuff we didn’t want any more, and people paid us to take it away. We bought four spaces — one space for each trailer and two spaces for displaying items for sale. We left the bulkier items on the open trailer, and used the enclosed trailer for securing items we didn’t want to leave out overnight. This is what our swap meet set up looked like:
If you see the fans on the tailgate of the trailer, they were powered by a little inverter generator. Mr. L liked them. I’m not sure they made that much difference, but they were a good conversation piece. As is typically the case for us, our automotive section is too specific for most people’s tastes. 1946 and 1953 Mercury, World War II era Jeep, and the odd Triumph and Fiat parts are not popular. Even our minuscule Chevy section is too obscure (1928-1929). But the dog house and the lawn chairs with foot rests sold. We especially like to see bulky items find new homes.
