Home Internet Connection, continued
Digital and Premium cable channels are still out, but who cares. I want my Internet. Turns out the cheap little cable modem they insisted on giving me croaked. They can’t get to my house until Monday! For the cable channels and the (most likely) fried cable box, that’s fine, but I’m not willing to be without Internet access that long. My outage time with this service I’ve had for less than a week now exceeds outage time for the entire three years I was with Cox (except for post-Hurricane Isabel time, but I was out of the country then and didn’t notice) in Virginia. I hope this is an aberration.
Fortunately, I still have my trusty Motorola SURFboard. Gave telephone support my MAC address from it, and fifteen minutes later, I was on-line.
As for Dennis, I’ve picked up the party favors for him. Non-perishables to eat and more batteries. I’ll fill water jugs and bathtubs this weekend. Mowed the lawn tonight. Hershey and I will be ready.
So now you’re right in the paths of hurricanes. Lucky, lucky you. You and Hershey hang in there and take care.
