USA Baseball

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on March 19, 2006 by JeanMarch 19, 2006

How much longer before USA Baseball realizes the rest of the world has embraced baseball and passed us by? As with USA Basketball, we need to realize we can no longer rest on our laurels, show up, and collect our win.

Wintering Over

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on March 18, 2006 by JeanMarch 18, 2006

I’ve been roaming the pack ice with my friends and family. She has been focused on work and Her other writing projects and hasn’t had time for me. She also has the dog and cat, who take more of Her time. I’m still following the Spurs with my DirecTV hook-up. … Continue reading →

Bi-Focals

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on March 17, 2006 by JeanMarch 17, 2006

My workstation bi-focals arrived today.  Just in time for the weekend.  There’s always an adjustment period for new lenses, and these are no different.  I hope this will eliminate the eyestrain I’ve been experiencing lately.

Beware the Ides of March

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on March 15, 2006 by JeanJune 14, 2019

Twenty-one years ago today–at about this time, my life changed forever. It’s hard to believe it was really that long ago. I was teaching an evening shift, and my husband’s boss called to say my husband had fallen in Austin earlier that day, landed on his head, had driven back … Continue reading →

Nethrone

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on March 14, 2006 by JeanJune 14, 2019

I tossed my PC Magazine aside when I got it a couple weeks ago. I’m procrastinating tonight, and I began browsing. In FutureWatch, there’s a picture of the next craze in ergonomic computing–the Nethrone. It has footpegs, an ergonomic keyboard shelf, an adjustable flatscreen holder, and a reclining, vibrating chair … Continue reading →

70 Words

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on March 13, 2006 by JeanMarch 13, 2006

That’s what I wrote last night on T&T, just so I’d have written some words.  I erased them all tonight and cut to the chase in the scene.  I hope it goes better.  It’s bad enough they’re meeting over lunch, but why have them getting seated and making small talk … Continue reading →

This and That

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on March 12, 2006 by JeanMarch 12, 2006

Despite the toaster burning my bagel yesterday morning, I did manage to overcome the disappointment. Hershey managed to choke it down. I managed to mow the front yard and wash the truck. I met my neighbor across the street. Not bad, I’ve only lived here since last June. It’s a … Continue reading →

PRK. One Year Later.

Philosophical Meanderings, Too Posted on March 9, 2006 by JeanMarch 9, 2006

One year ago on March 7, I had PRK surgery performed on my eyes. Over the next week, I had the fuzziest vision of my life and could do little more than listen to TV (was great for following NCAA March Madness). I was one of the fortunate ones and … Continue reading →
