I’ve been updating you on the demolition of the building kikitty-cornercross the street from the shop. To get the background, go here. Today’s photo will show the demolition is complete.

They’re still cleaning up the rubble, obviously, but the building is gone. This building was eminently salvageable. At worst, part of it could have been preserved and designed into the new structure to give the corner an historic flavor. Sadly, that wasn’t to be.

We purchased what we could in this town with our limited resources to preserve some historic perspective, but we can’t do much more than we’ve been able to do. Kind of like stray cats and dogs, you save a few, but there are always a lot more you can’t help.
