Grand Tour 2017 Map and Route Discussion
I had a request to post a route map.

We took the Texas Eagle from San Antonio to Chicago. Due to track outages, we were bused from Fort Worth to just north of Little Rock.
The Empire Builder runs from Chicago to Seattle or Portland (we took the Seattle route).
The Coast Startlight, which we did not take due to cancellation, would have taken us from Seattle to Sacramento.
The California Zephyr runs from Oakland/Emeryville to Chicago. We got in in Sacramento, got off for a few days in Reno, then got back on to take it all the way to Chicago.
We returned home on the Texas Eagle, retracing our steps from Chicago to San Antonio; however, track work required us to take an alternate route after Longview. Passengers disembarking between Longview and Temple, TX, were bused to their destination. We rode all the way on the train for this leg.
